Where crystal-clear waters meet lush greenery, our founder’s journey unfolds as a narrative woven between cultures, experiences abroad, and an unyielding passion for real estate. Born and raised on the island, Lea Verbizier cultivated a deep connection with its diverse regions.

Studying in France, Spain, and the UK, the allure of home was magnetic, drawing her back to Mauritius after six transformative years abroad. At the age of 24, she ventured into the world of real estate, embarking on a career that would later become the platform for her innovation and socially responsible vision.

The early chapters of her professional life saw her selling plots of land for Domaine de Palmyre, followed by a three-year tenure at Horizon Properties, where she honed her skills in long-term rentals and sales. A two-year chapter at BARNES exposed her to international clients and foreign acquisitions, expanding her horizons within the global real estate arena.

Driven by a genuine love for being in the field, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and negotiating the best deals, she found joy in the pursuit of that one perfect property for her clients. For her, real estate is not just about transactions; it’s about connecting with a client, understanding their needs, and taking it that one step further.

The turning point in her narrative occurred after the birth of her second daughter in early 2023. Fueled by a desire to align her professional endeavours with her values and vision, she set out to create a real estate agency that transcends conventions. Her goal was clear: to innovate, add value to lives, and contribute positively to the Mauritian community.

The question of sustainability has always fascinated her, especially in an industry often perceived as profit-driven and lacking in client-centric values. Determined to challenge these stereotypes, she embarked on a mission to create a socially responsible real estate agency, a concept she found nonexistent in her extensive research.

Her vision for OME Real Estate is revolutionary. Beyond being a real estate agency on paper, it is an embodiment of values translated into action. Breaking away from the conventional norms of the industry, she strives to redefine the perception of real estate by infusing compassion, benevolence, sharing, and love into every transaction.

OME Real Estate’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond rhetoric. Today they contribute 5% of commissions to vetted NGOs, tomorrow they could be planting coral and promoting reef preservation, or making dreams a reality by establishing her own NGO focusing on surf and the local community.

In the face of scepticism, she remains resolute, driven by the desire for her children to see their mother as a trailblazer, making a positive impact on both the real estate industry and the world at large.
